Blood Test

Collection Tips - Preparation
  • Have 1-2 glasses of water 30 min – 1 hour prior to collection.
  • Make sure the Tube is tightly attached to the device.Β
  • Do not push the red button prior to putting the device on your shoulder.
  • Leave the device on the arm even if you do not feel the lancet.
  • Device placement is typically recommended 2-3 finger widths down from the shoulder top, in the centre of the deltoid.
  • Very hairy arms should shave to allow proper adhesion and vacuum.
  • The heat pack has been added to improve the arm warming step and increase blood flow at the collection site.

Use the heat pack for the full 3-4 minutes.

Rubbing of the heatpack is recommended as described in instructions.

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Use alcohol rub to remove anything that can interfere with the adhesive. Also helps to flatten small hairs.

Collection Tips - Collection

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β When adhering the device to the arm, push all around the button to ensure stuck well.

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Give the button a firm push for 2 seconds, and then release.

The vacuum is activated when the button is released helping to draw out the blood.

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Make sure the arm is straight down at the participant’s side during collection. An arm resting on an armrest
or table could cause the blood to flow more slowly into the tube and increase
clotting

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Prior to mixing of the tube, invert the tube and flick it a few times and then mix it. Β For non SST.

Blood test process
  • Follow all the pre-testing instructions
  • Ensure you read and understand the blood collection steps including marking the sample vials.
  • Ideally take your test in the morning
  • Post the same day.
  • Only post Monday to Thursday as this
allows for immediate testing, posting at the weekend results in poor or
    unstable blood testing
What to do BEFORE a Complete or Essential Blood Test

  • Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours before.
  • Heavy training can temporarily change white blood cells and muscle-related markers.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
  • It can dilute plasma volume and temporarily
    reduce immune cell counts.
  • Eat normally unless told otherwise.
  • A standard test does not require fasting, you can eat normally.
  • Only fast if additional panels are being taken (lipids, glucose, insulin, etc.).

Weight Loss

Are Weight Loss Injections Effective?

Yes, clinical studies show that weight loss injections like Mounjaro and Wegovy are highly effective when combined with lifestyle changes. In trials, patients lost an average of 15-22% of their body weight over 68-72 weeks. These medications work by regulating appetite, slowing digestion, and helping you feel fuller for longer. Results vary by individual, and they're most effective when paired with a balanced diet and regular physical activity.

Wegovy vs. Mounjaro: What’s the Difference?

Wegovy and Mounjaro are both prescription-only, once-weekly injections licensed for weight management. While they work in similar ways, each has distinct benefits worth considering:

Mounjaro

  • Shown in clinical trials to support up to 22.5% weight loss* by reducing appetite.
  • Licensed for weight loss and recommended by the NHS.
  • Tirzepatide is the active ingredient, a weight loss medicine that is also used for type 2 diabetes.
  • Suitable for overweight adults or adults living with obesity.
  • Injected once per week, with noticeable results seen within a few weeks.
  • Works best combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Wegovy

  • Shown in clinical trials to support up to 15% weight loss** by reducing appetite.
  • Licensed for weight loss and recommended by the NHS.
  • Semaglutide is the active ingredient, an anti-obesity medication that decreases your blood sugar by increasing insulin levels.
  • Suitable for overweight adults or adults living with obesity.
  • Taken once weekly, with gradual yet noticeable results seen within a few weeks.
  • Designed to be combined with a healthy diet and frequent physical activity.
What Does Mounjaro Do?

Mounjaro helps you lose up to 22.5%* of your starting weight with an anti-obesity active ingredient called Tirzepatide. This ingredient activates the GLP-1 and GIP receptors in your brain, helping to control your blood sugar levels, reduce your appetite and make you feel fuller for longer after meals. Because of its dual action on both receptors – not just GLP-1 – Mounjaro is considered one of the most effective injections for weight loss, with results seen within weeks of starting treatment.

What Should I Expect From My First Mounjaro Order?

Your first Mounjaro delivery will include a one-month starter supply: four weekly pens at the introductory 0.25mg dose. This lower dose helps your body adjust to treatment with fewer side effects. Your medication should be stored in a refrigerator until use.Β Β

Along with your Mounjaro pens, you will also receive:Β Β

  • A detailed instruction leaflet.Β Β
  • A sharps bin for safe disposal.

Our Cannaray Wellness doctors and support team are here to help if you ever need guidance on using your Mounjaro weight loss injections or storing your treatment safely.Β

Where Do I Inject Mounjaro or Wegovy?

You can inject Mounjaro in one of the three following areas once per week:

  • Stomach/abdomen, at least two centimetres away from the belly button.
  • Front of thighs, midway between the hip and knee.
  • Back or outer part of your arm if administered by another person.
How Long Does Mounjaro/ Wegoy Take to Work?

Mounjaro/ Wegovy starts working immediately after your first dosage, and you can expect to see visible results within a few weeks. In clinical trials, patients lost up to 22.5%* of their starting weight on the 15mg maintenance dose after 72 weeks. Results vary from patient to patient, and you’ll see the best outcome from combining Mounjaro / Wegovy injections with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

What Does Wegovy Do?

By interacting with the GLP-1 receptor, Wegovy’s active ingredient, Semaglutide, mimics a natural hormone your body usually releases after eating. This sends signals to your brain to reduce hunger and increase feelings of fullness, which regulates your appetite and calorie intake. In trials, patients achieved an average loss of up to 15%* of their body weight when they combined Wegovy with diet and exercise changes. The treatment can also be used to help control your blood sugar levels.

What Should I Expect From My First Wegovy Order?

What are the possible side effects of weight loss injections?

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal and include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort. These are usually mild to moderate and tend to improve after the first few weeks as your body adjusts.
Less common side effects include fatigue, headache, and dizziness. Serious side
effects are rare but can include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, or allergic reactions. Your clinician will discuss all potential risks with you, and we monitor you regularly to ensure your safety.

How long do I need to stay on weight loss injections?

Weight loss medications are typically used as long-term treatments. Most people remain on them for at least 12-18 months, though some continue indefinitely to maintain
their weight loss. These medications help manage the biological factors that make weight loss difficult to sustain. Your clinician will work with you to determine the right duration based on your progress, goals, and overall health. If you decide to stop, it should be done gradually under medical supervision.

TRT

What is testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

TRT is a medical treatment that supplements testosterone levels in men who have
clinically low testosterone (hypogonadism). It involves regular administration of testosterone through injections, gels, or patches to restore hormone levels to a normal, healthy range. TRT can help improve symptoms like low energy, reduced muscle mass, decreased libido, mood changes, and difficulty concentrating that result from low testosterone.

How do I know if I need TRT?

TRT may be appropriate if you're experiencing symptoms of low testosterone combined with blood test results showing levels below the normal range. Common symptoms include persistent fatigue, decreased sex drive, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, increased body fat, mood changes, and difficulty concentrating.
Diagnosis requires both symptom assessment and laboratory confirmation through blood tests. Our clinicians will evaluate your complete health profile to
determine if TRT is medically indicated for you.

Can women access treatments too?

Yes, absolutely. Women can access our weight loss programmes including Mounjaro and Wegovy, as these medications are approved for weight management in both men and women. We also offer blood test panels specifically for weight loss to help
monitor your health markers and progress. Additionally, our supplements range includes wellness products designed to support energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing. Our clinicians provide personalised care for all patients.

How to use your Testosterone Injection Safely?

Check the contents of the box

oΒ Β  Box containing vial of testosterone

oΒ Β  Disposable syringe

oΒ Β  Two green (21G) needles

oΒ Β  Alcohol swabs

oΒ Β  Yellow sharps bin

Get ready

oΒ Β  Find a well-lit area in which to work, clean the area and wash your hands

oΒ Β  Remove the testosterone vial from the box and check:

  • The writing to ensure it is the correct medication
  • The expiry date written as MM/YY (do not use if out of date)
  • The fluid inside the vial (do not use if discoloured, cloudy or has bits in)
Prepare the injection

oΒ Β  Attach the green needle to the syringe ensuring that the cap stays on the needle at all times,
put the empty syringe and needle down

oΒ Β  Pick up the vial and firmly flick the top to ensure all the liquid is in the main part of the
vial

oΒ Β  Snap the top off the vial by firmly grasping between finger and thumb and pushing away from the dot on the neck of the vial

oΒ Β  Pull the needle cover straight off the syringe and place the needle into the vial so that the needle tip rests against the bottom of the vial

oΒ Β  Pull back the barrel slowly to draw the liquid into the syringe, ensuring none is left in the vial

oΒ Β  Bring the syringe out of the vial and carefully remove the needle, disposing of it in the sharps bin

oΒ Β  Dispose of the vial and the top in the sharps bin

oΒ Β  Check for air bubbles in the syringe by holding it upright with the plunger pointing towards the floor, firmly tap the syringe with your finger until the bubbles rise to the top of the syringe

oΒ Β  Slowly push the plunger up to force the air bubbles out of the syringe

oΒ Β  After the air has been removed, attach the second green needle and the injection is now ready to be given

Selecting the injection site

oΒ Β  There are two common sites for injection; the buttock or the thigh:

  • Vastus lateralis muscle in the thigh:
  • Can be used for self injection or if someone else is giving the injection

Β·Β Look at the thigh and divide it horizontally into 3 equal parts

Β·Β The injection is given into the middle third on the outer edge of the thigh

  • Gluteus maximus in the buttock:

Β·Β Β Can be used if someone else is giving you the injection

Β·Β Expose the bottom and mentally divide one of the buttocks into four quarters, aiming
the injection into the upper, outer quarter

Giving the injection

oΒ Β  Clean the skin of the injection site with an alcohol swab; let it air dry

oΒ Β  Hold the skin around the injection site by forming a V with the fingers of your non-dominant hand and placing the heel of this hand on the skin, aiming the injection in
between the arms of the V

oΒ Β  Completely insert the needle at a 90-degree angle with a quick, firm motion

oΒ Β  Remove your hand from the skin and use it to grip the barrel of the syringe

oΒ Β  With the other hand, gently pull back on the plunger to check for blood

  • If you see blood in the needle, do not inject, remove the needle immediately and
discard the syringe, starting the process of preparing the injection again
  • If you do not see any blood, complete the injection by slowly pushing the plunger
    down

oΒ Β  When the full dose of the medication is given, remove the needle and syringe

oΒ Β  Gently press a wipe on the injection site until there is no further bleeding

oΒ Β  Dispose of the whole needle and syringe in the sharps bin

Tips for reducing injection discomfort

oΒ Β  Inject medicine that is at room temperature

oΒ Β  Remove all air bubbles from the syringe before injection

oΒ Β  Let the skin dry before injecting, after using alcohol wipes

oΒ Β  Keep the muscles in the injection area relaxed

oΒ Β  Break through the skin quickly with the needle

oΒ Β  Rotate the site of injection

oΒ Β  Try not to change the direction of the needle as it goes in or comes out

Other Advice

oΒ Β  Please attend all follow-up and blood test appointments

oΒ Β  Report mood changes, sleep disturbance, libido changes, acne, or prolonged erections

oΒ Β  Any problems, please contact the clinic.

Clinical Pathway & Eligibility

Can I transfer my prescription to Cannaray Wellness from another provider?

Yes, if you're currently receiving treatment elsewhere, we can often continue your
care. You'll need to complete our medical intake process and provide your current prescription details and recent blood work. Our clinicians will review your records to ensure safe continuation of treatment. In some cases, we may need to conduct new blood tests or adjust your treatment plan to align with our protocols.

How often will I need a follow-up appointment?

Follow-up frequency depends on your treatment type. For weight loss injections, you'll typically have check-ins every 4-6 weeks initially, then monthly once you're
stable on your therapeutic dose. TRT patients will need a symptom check in between week 4-6 and usually need follow-ups every 3-6 months months for the first
year, then every 6 months once levels are optimised. These appointments include symptom review, progress assessment, and blood work to
monitor your response to treatment.
